The Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce was founded in the early 1930’s by representatives of businesses and active volunteers within our towns.
Membership is open to all, regardless of business size or type. Many of our members are employed by regional or national corporations, are independent consultants, or are specialized service providers. Our membership includes a number of retired business professionals who value their Chamber membership, as we value their insight and experience.
We support our Lyme-Old Lyme community in many ways, including grants and scholarships to business professionals, local high school students, and Lyme Academy College students; and seasonal Adopt-a-Highway roadway clean-ups.
In conjunction with St. Vincent DePaul nonprofit programs, the Chamber sponsors clothing-recycling bins in four locations:
- Route 156/ Shore Road near Buttonball
- Behind shops in the Old Lyme Marketplace
- Boston Post Road by Oriental Café
- Hamburg Road behind the Fire House
Prospective members, visitors & guests are always welcome to join us at monthly dinner at Business After Hours meetings and at special events, including our Annual Pet Parade and Taste of the Lymes.
Chamber businesses participate in a number of town-wide events, including a Fall celebration that coincides with special exhibits at our Florence Griswold Museum (2011- Birdhouses; 2012 – Faeries) and the Light Up Old Lyme holiday celebration.
